Give children something to explore while everyone gathers around the Thanksgiving table. Choose a coloring sheet or a puzzle page to suit each child, and keep the grown-up guide nearby.

Set up your Thanksgiving activity table

  • The free Thanksgiving table activity pack
  • US Letter paper and a printer set to landscape, single-sided
  • Crayons or colored pencils and a pencil for puzzles
  • Optional: scissors for a grown-up to cut out the name cards and conversation tickets

Print only the pages you need. Check the print preview and use “fit to printable area” if an edge is clipped. Page 4 is the adult guide and answer key.

  1. Color, count and draw on the preschool placemat

Page 1 is designed for ages 4–5. Color the turkey, count the leaves and pie slices, draw someone you are thankful for, and trace the dotted path.

    • Count each shape together before marking an answer.
    • Use the drawing space for a family member, friend or someone who helped you.

Counting check: There are five leaves and three pie slices.

  2. Try the Thanksgiving puzzles together

Page 2 is designed for ages 6–8, with a turkey maze, a six-word word search and tic-tac-toe. Children can work together or take turns.

    • Trace the maze with a finger before using a pencil.
    • For tic-tac-toe, choose X or O and alternate turns. Three in a row wins.
    • Color the leaves while waiting for a turn.
  3. Make a place for everyone

Page 3 has two foldable name cards and four conversation tickets. Use these optional pieces to decorate the table and start a family conversation.

    • Ask a grown-up to cut out the pieces and help with the fold lines.
    • Add names to the cards and place them at the table.
    • Take turns choosing a conversation ticket.

Keep the Thanksgiving coloring going

Save unused sheets for later and keep page 4 with the grown-up leading the activity. It includes setup notes, count answers, the maze route and word-search answers.
