How to print coloring pages

Start with one PDF and one test sheet. You do not need to buy a new printer or a special set of supplies to try our free pages.

1. Open the PDF, not the preview image

On this site, use the PDF download button. A screenshot of the artwork may include interface elements or have less detail than the PDF.

For an Etsy purchase, wait for payment confirmation, then open Etsy in a web browser and go to Purchases. Guest buyers use the download link in their receipt email. Etsy's app does not currently support downloading digital purchases.

2. Match the file to your paper

Our paid Etsy books include separate US Letter (8.5 × 11 inch) and A4 files. Pick the one that matches the paper in your printer. For a free Letter PDF on A4 paper, use your PDF viewer's fit-to-page option.

Check the preview for a complete drawing and white space around it. Printer margins differ; if an edge is cut off, use Fit or reduce the scale a little. Avoid borderless mode for these pages.

3. Print one test page

Choose black-and-white or grayscale output and single-sided printing. Select just the page you want instead of printing the entire book by accident. Inspect the outlines and all four edges before printing more copies.

If the drawing looks small, check that you have not selected multiple PDF pages per sheet. If it looks clipped, check paper size, orientation and scaling before using more paper.

4. Set out supplies you already have

Crayons or colored pencils are a simple starting choice. Markers can bleed through paper: single-sided printing is not a guarantee against this. Put a spare protective sheet underneath and test first.

Before trying heavier paper, check your printer's supported paper weight and feed instructions. Choose age-appropriate supplies and follow their manufacturer's instructions.

Family and classroom printing

You may print our pages for your own family or classroom. Share the website link when someone asks for a copy; do not resell or redistribute the PDF files. Etsy editions are digital downloads; Amazon paperback editions are physical books.
