Print one sheet for each hanging panel, color the pages, then fold each top margin over a string and tape the paper on the back. You can also display a single page on its own.

What you’ll need
- One Smiling Maple Leaf printout for each hanging panel
- Crayons, colored pencils or a coloring supply you already use
- String or yarn and tape
- A folder or flat surface for finished pieces

Decide how many panels to hang
Choose a short stretch of wall, mantel, or classroom board for the finished garland. Print one copy of the page for each panel.
Each sheet keeps its full rectangular page shape, with one leaf illustration in the center.
Print and check the full page
Download the PDF and print single-sided on US Letter paper. For A4, use fit to page.
Check the print preview so the leaf and stem are fully visible. The coloring-page printing guide has more help with scale or margins.
Check that the whole drawing fits in your print preview. Color before you assemble
Color each page while it is still easy to hold flat. Children can choose autumn colors for every sheet, or leave parts white.
Crayons and colored pencils are easy starting options. If you use markers, place scrap paper underneath and try a small area first.
Fold each page over the string
Lay the string across the top margin of a colored page. Fold the paper over the string, then use a short piece of tape on the back to secure the folded edge.
Repeat with the remaining pages, leaving a little space between panels.
Keep the sheet whole
The page stays whole, and the whole leaf stays visible.
Hang the full-page garland
Ask an adult to place the finished string where it will not block a doorway or sit near heat. Adjust the spacing before securing both ends.
If you want a smaller display, leave the page flat on a clipboard or put it on a wall or fridge.
