Make a Simple Family Boo Basket with a Coloring Page
A free ghost page and crayons turn a small basket into a Halloween coloring surprise.

A Boo Basket can be simple: start with a coloring page and crayons. It can stay candy-free, or you can add one small nonfood extra or a favorite wrapped treat if that suits your family.
A basket, small box, or sturdy paper bag can hold the page.
What to gather
- One printed Ghost with a Lollipop page
- A few crayons or colored pencils
- A small basket, box or sturdy paper bag
- Tissue paper or clean scrap paper to keep supplies from sliding
- Optional: one age-appropriate nonfood extra or a favorite wrapped treat
The page and coloring tools are enough by themselves. Stand the page upright if it fits, or roll it loosely with the drawing facing out; a paper band can hold the roll without creasing it.
The Ghost with a Lollipop page is labeled Easy, ages 4–8. An adult can print the page and should check any optional item’s age guidance.
Share the coloring-page link with another family or teacher rather than sending the PDF file.
Print and arrange the page
Open the PDF, choose US Letter paper, and check that the full ghost and lollipop fit in the print preview. If you use A4 paper, select “fit to page.” If the page is clipped, check paper size, orientation, and scale before printing again.
Place a little tissue or folded scrap paper in the bottom of the container. Stand the coloring page at the back and put the crayons beside it.
For a personal touch, add the recipient’s name to a separate paper band or note, leaving the printable blank for them to color. Keep the ghost visible; the page itself is the activity.
Make it fit the person receiving it
For a no-candy version, keep the basket to the page and crayons. You can add a small nonfood extra, such as a sticker sheet or a soft toy, if it is suitable for the recipient’s age.
If the recipient enjoys a treat, a favorite wrapped one is optional.
Too many extras? Remove them until the page and colors sit flat and are easy to pick up.
If markers are included, add a protective scrap sheet and test a small area first. Crayons or pencils keep the setup simpler.
Keep it simple
No basket? A sturdy bag or small box works.
Check that the whole drawing fits in your print preview. Add a note and share the page link
Write “Happy Halloween” on a separate note if you like. Place it beside the page so the drawing stays open.
For a classroom, print copies for your own class from the page’s download link and follow your classroom’s rules for small items and food. When another teacher or family asks for the activity, send them to the CPP page so they can open their own copy.
